Song #7: "God Is Able" (Jude 24-25, Eph. 3:20)

Lyrics:  “Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy…to God our savior, who alone is wise, be glory and majesty, dominion and power both now and forever, amen…

God is Able, our God is able…

Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly and abundantly above all that we ask or think according to the power that works in us…to God our savior…God is Able, our God is able…”

(song #4 on “Words of Faith and Hope”)

This song is so appropriate for me right now. I am trusting in God’s ablity to bring me out of afflictions and trials, and He is working His exceeding abundant power in me to bring me to a place of rest in Him. I don’t have to strive to be in His Shalom, I just need to accept that He has finished the work and has provided that resting place for me. An old song used to call it “leaning on the everlasting arms.”

To truly believe that God’s Word is true is to believe that He is Able to do what He has promised…to keep me from stumbling, to present me faultless before His presence, to work in me His exceedingly abundant saving grace.

This is an important message that He is trying to get us to believe and receive, that He really IS ABLE to keep us.

May you find yourself seeking and abiding in His ability to keep you, and may you find rest in His great love.

Blessings,

Wes
