Song #22 Abba Father; Lord's Prayer (Matt. 6)

Song #22:  Abba Father, (Lord’s Prayer)  Matt.6

The Lord’s prayer, “Our Father”, is a prayer most of us learned to recite early in life, but there is so much depth in what Jesus taught us.

You can listen to this song on my (.com) website: wesmichaelgorospe.

By the way, the reason I address  my website in parts is because FB does not send my blog out when the .com is at the end. Go figure…

Lyrics:

Abba Father, You dwell in the heavens

Holy, holy, holy is Your name.

May Your kingdom be established…all across the earth,

And Your will be done here, as in heaven…

Give us this day our daily bread,

And forgive our sins, as we forgive the sins of others.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one

For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory…

Forever and ever…amen…

1. In the first section of the prayer, Jesus is telling us to start with praise and worship; “Holy…”

2. Next He asks us to acknowlege and to submit to His will and plan.

3. Then to unashamedly ask for what we need…”daily bread”.

4. The forgiveness of our sins, and especially for us to forgive others, is central to, and has the potential to abort everything in God’s plan for us.

5. We rely on Him, the good shepherd, to lead us and protect us from the enemy…although He taught them this prayer BEFORE He gave His life and sent Holy Spirit to empower US with His authority to do this.

6. He ends in praise and acknowlegement of God’s ultimate authority.

Each of these segments can be a separate prayer session by itself, but overall, this is a great outline for our devotionals.

Blessings,
