Song #18 "Future and a Hope" (Jeremiah 29:10-14)

Song #18:  “Future and a Hope”  (Jeremiah 29)

Here we are in December, just a few weeks from Christmas and a brand new year just around the corner, and brand new start for some. Perhaps it’s time to hit the reset button. Perhaps it’s time to lay down some of the baggage that has weighed you down for too long, and chart a new course…press toward the mark of a higher calling. Maybe it’s time to walk out of the darkness and toward the rising Son.

Listen: “Future and a Hope” is on my “Words of Faith and Hope” CD, which you can hear on my website: wesmichaelgorospe.com/songs.

Lyrics:

“I will visit you and perform My good works in you

and cause you to return to this place.”

“For I know the plans that I have toward you” says the Lord;

“plans of peace, not evil, to give you a future and a hope…

then you will call upon Me, and go and pray to Me,

and I will listen…”

“For I know the thoughts that I have toward you,” says the Lord;

“thoughts of peace, not evil, to give you a future and a hope…

and you will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart…”

“I will be found by you,” says the Lord; “and I will bring you back from your captivity, I will gather you from all nations, from all people, I will bring you back.”

“You’ll return to Me…you will return to Me…”

The future that we desire, a future full of joy and hope, is truly ours for the taking. Like the best Christmas present you could ever imagine, it has been bought, paid for in full, and is waiting for you to unwrap at the foot of the tree.

Many of us have wandered far from our hope-filled future, but that has not deterred Him. His jolly Father’s heart is still bursting with expectation of that moment when you will return, receive your gift and live your dream. He has thought out the plan and executed it to the tiniest of details, and now the present awaits at the foot of the tree.

The question is…will you return to the tree, kneel down, and open the gift He bought for you…your future and hope awaits your response.

Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year.
