#1. Featured “Song of Scripture”:
Psalm 27: 4,1,8 “Whom Shall I Fear”
Lyrics: One thing have I desired of the Lord
This one thing I am seeking
That I may dwell in the house of the Lord
All the days of my life
To behold the beauty of the Lord
The Lord is my light and my salvation
Whom shall I fear…
The Lord is the strength of my life
Whom shall I fear…
When You said to me “seek My face”
My heart said to You “Your face, Lord will I seek”
Explain: “Whom shall I Fear” starts with the chorus, in v. 4:
One thing have I desired of the Lord, this one thing I am seeking…that I may dwell in the house of the Lord…everyday I am living…
The most important pursuit in our lives needs to be the pursuit of quality time with God; to dwell in His house…to dwell in His Presence…
Here in His Presence is where we find His beauty. Here in His presence is where we find His peace and joy.
And Here in His presence is where we find His strength and protection.
When we dwell with Him, we live in safety, and we’re saved from the tormentor who lies to us, to steal our hope, and fill our minds with fear.
But, in God’s presence we have fullness of joy… God’s perfect love casts down fear…
God’s perfect love silences the tormentor…
so we can confidently seek His presence… so we can confidently seek His face…
so we can be saved, and safe from harm,
with nothing and no one to fear but God Himself…
The fear/reverence of God is the beginning of wisdom…
