Song #34 "I Waited" (Psalm 40:1-3)

Wow, It’s hard to believe we are into the second month of 2020, and I haven’t sent a blog since December of last year. Well, here I am huddled up with my water, my hot tea, and my tissues writing about waiting patiently.

I have been learning over the past few months about “Abiding” in the Lord, and He abiding in me; Him staying with me and going through life with me, through great triumph as well as sickness. I find myself feeling comforted and comfortable in this “secret place” IN the most High. I also discovered that going to His secret place is not automatic, I have to intentionally “go” there; but, He welcomes me day or night. It’s so good to know that everything I really need is right in front of me (in Him) at all times, and that He is eager to bring me UP to where He is whenever my heart is willing.

Lyrics:  (“I Waited” is not recorded yet)

I waited patiently for the Lord, and He inclined unto me

He heard my cry…He heard my cry…

He brought me up…also out…of a horrible pit…

out of the miry clay…out of the miry clay

He set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings

and He has put a new song in my mouth…even praise unto our God…

Hallelujah…I will praise You… Halellujah…You are worthy…

As we move into this new year, this new decade, let us all remember that He, God, is right here waiting for us to call upon Him, and step into this place of abiding. Jesus paid a very high price to give us the opportunity to be lifted out of the miry clay so He can set our feet on solid ground. He proved that He wants this for us, and His invitation for us to come to Him is open-ended…now we must decide if we want to enter into His Presence.

Abiding, staying, living in this “secret place of the Most High” is awesome…I wish I didn’t have the tendency to step out of there and try to handle everything myself…but He keeps inviting me back…!!!

Song #33; "Blessing and Honor" (Revelation 5:12-13)

Imagine 10,000 x 10,000, and thousands of thousands of angels and living creatures, and every creature ON the earth, UNDER the earth, and IN the sea singing this song of worship together…now, imagine YOU joining in, and lending your voice to this massive choir, worshiping the King of all Kings, Jesus…Wow…!!!

Lyrics: Blessing and honor, glory and power

be to Him who sits on the throne,

and to the Lamb, forever and ever…

Worthy is the Lamb who was slain

to receive power and riches and wisdom,

strength and honor, and glory, and blessing!!

The greatest honor that we have is to join with heaven’s host to sing praise and worship to our Lord; a privilege only afforded to us because God Himself became a human being so that He could take our place as a sacrificial Lamb, wipe away all of our transgressions (forever), and pave the way for us to live with Him for eternity. This, my friends, is called resurrection life, and it starts at the moment that we acknowledge/confess that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Living God. Eternal life starts on earth, right now, if you will confess Him as your Lord…!!! When we die we get a major upgrade in quality of experience, but we simply change the address of where we live, from earth to heaven.

So, as we sing this song with the host of heaven, keep in mind Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection…He has done it…the work is finished…now we can live with Him forever…!!!

Blessings,

Wes

Song #32 "Whom Shall I Fear" (Psalm 27)

Song #32: “Whom Shall I Fear”(Psalm 27)

**Before I get into Song #32, I ask you to pray about helping to send us to Israel in March of 2020. We will be joining a group to come along side 10 different ministries in Israel with material and spiritual support. Donations can be made by buying my music, or giving at wesmichaelgorospe.com. Thank you in advance.

Lyrics

One thing have I desired of the Lord, one thing will I seek

that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life

to behold the beauty of the Lord, to behold the beauty of the Lord

The Lord is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear?

The Lord is the strength of my life, whom shall I fear…

When You said to me “seek My face”

my heart said to You,”Your face Lord will I seek”

When You said to me “seek My face”

my heart said to You,”Your face Lord will I seek” (repeat all)

To have a “One thing” mindset, a “One thing” heart motivation is to be like Mary of Bethany, of whom Jesus said that her choice to worship was the one thing needed.

The apostle Paul wrote, “one thing I do…reaching forward…I press toward the goal…”

To live in worship, all day long; seeing His glory and majesty everywhere, is what David is singing about here. You can choose to live in this place; beholding His beauty, feeling Him strengthening you, fear melting away as His glorious light shines upon you, as Isaiah 60 points out.

The tenderness of “Your face Lord will I seek” is a place of intimacy that can be our portion if we are willing to embrace Him. He is waiting for us to come, inviting us to enter into this secret place.

I encourage all of you to taste and see for yourself the goodness of the Lord…put on a “One thing” mindset…just go for it, you won’t regret it. Glory is waiting for you.

Psalm 27 has not yet been recorded by me, but you can read all of my previous blogs, and listen to the songs on my website;

Song #31, Christ Lives In Me (Gal. 2:20, 3:13, 5:1)

Song #31  “Christ Lives in Me”  (Galatians 2:20; 3:13; 5:1)

The greatest revelation one can ever experience in life is “Christ in me, the hope of glory.”

My song, “Christ in Me” has not been recorded yet, but live versions can be heard at the Camarillo Healing Rooms occasionally.

Lyrics:

I am crucified with Christ, it’s no longer I who live

but Christ lives in me, Christ lives in me…

And the life that I now live, in this flesh, I live by faith

Of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave Himself for me…

Jesus redeemed me from the curse of the law

when He became a curse for me (it’s written)

Cursed is everyone who hangs upon a tree

He has redeemed us, you and me…

So I’ll stand fast…in the liberty…by which Christ…has made me free

and I won’t be caught again as a slave…

The very nature of man is driven by self preservation, so, to submit oneself to identify with Christ’s crucifixion, to be spiritually and emotionally invested in God’s plan, is a pathway that not many have or will choose…but those who do choose to make that exchange (my life for His) will experience life on God’s terms. God always chooses life over death, health over sickness, the miraculous over the mundane. The liberty that is experienced when living “In Christ” cannot be adequately explained in natural terms, but those who have lived and are living “In Christ” will tell of joy unspeakable and full of glory; remarkable provision of substance and instances of impossible doors of opportunity being opened. God’s ways are always laced with grace and mercy beyond our deservedness…but He delights in pouring blessings upon those who choose Him.

Exchanging my life for His allows me to live by His faith, which is way greater than my own. Jesus’ sacrifice also paid for my freedom from being shackled to the past, current, and future curses that would hinder me from true freedom. We can “Stand Fast”, be unmovable, and not be knocked off of the place God has brought us into.

As you meditate on the lyrics of “Christ In Me”, make them personal…make the exchange…your ordinary life for His extraordinary super-natural life.

PS: There are many other biblical truths for you to meditate on in the form of songs on my website: wesmichaelgorospe.com

May you be enriched by living “In Christ”.

Song #30 I Will Bless (Psalm 34:1-4)

Song #30: I Will Bless (Psalm 34: 1-4)

I am reminded of why I started this song blog…It’s the same reason I wrote all these scripture songs…I want you to have scripturepromises handy so that, when life gets hard, you will have certain promises to help bring you through. It has worked for me on numerous occasions…they really do work…!!!

I Will Bless is on my “Life Changing Words” CD, and you can listen at:

wesmichaelgorospe.com

Lyrics:

I will bless the Lord at all times, His praise shall always be in my mouth. My soul shall make its’ boast in You, Lord, the humble will here of it and be glad. Oh, magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt His name together. I sought the Lord and He answered me, and He delivered me from all my fears. Bless the Lord oh my soul…

Blessing the Lord…i.e. praising the Lord, is the fastest way to overcome any fear. Becoming an overcomer, or living a triumphant life of strength and confidence is a pretty universal goal of most, and it falls right into the lap of those who believe. You see, when you praise God in sincerity, from the heart, God actually comes to enthrone Himself in your praises (Psalm 22:3)…in fact, God is actively seeking people who will worship in Spirit and Truth. (John 4:23)

Worship is like a GPS system that God uses to find you when you humble yourself and praise. The coolest part is that when He comes, He brings all of His stuff with Him…provision, healing, wisdom, miracles; all that He IS always travels with Him…”I sought the Lord and He answered me, and He delivered me from all my fears” is a small sample of what He brings when He comes.

So, NOW does it make sense to “Bless the Lord at all times, and let praise always be in your mouth?” If you are serious about wanting the Lord’s presence and His blessings and His deliverance from whatever has you stuck, then start praising and worshipping.

I will help you to do that…just play my songs, and sing along. Pretty soon you will feel the strength of the Lord because you are worshiping AND singing His all powerful word.

Try it…it really will help you become an overcomer in time.

Blessings,

Wes

Song #29 Eye Has Not Seen (1 Corin. 2:9+)

Song #29; Eye Has Not Seen  (1 Corin. 2:9 +)

Lyrics:

Eye has not seen, ear has not heard,

the things You have prepared for those who love You

Your promises are yes, and amen

the gifts You give are never taken back again

the peace You leave surpasses all understanding

This is Your way…Your perfect way…

You said You’d never leave me nor forsake me

if I wait on You, I’d have my strength renewed

You’d walk with me through the valley of the shadow of death

This is Your way…Your perfect way…

You alone are worthy to be praised

You alone are worthy to be praised

for by Your grace we hear and see what You Spirit has decreed

What more can we say but, yes Lord, we believe…

What more can we say but, yes Lord, we believe…

We believe…we believe…we believe…we believe…

In a world that keeps telling us that “seeing is believing” it is becoming increasingly clear that God’s ways and the way of this world are conflicting, in fact, completely opposite of each other.

The world is clinging to what they see as their reality, their compass; but what they see is often a mirage, a creation of their imagination.

God has given us, who dare to believe, all that He has created. We don’t have to conjure up our own images; He reveals to us what has already been created for us, bigger and better than what we could ask or think; and it’s not a mirage, it’s real…although it takes faith to see and experience. “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”

Some would say, aren’t we talking about the same thing here?

No, the difference is the source:

A realm created by a finite and flawed human source…or

The realm created by the infinite, perfect designer of all things, God Himself.

The only question to answer is: Which source are you tapping into?

Song # 28 O Righteous Father ( John 17:22-26)

Song #28:  “O Righteous Father” John 17: 22-26

This song is taken from John 17 on the night of the Last supper, the night He was betrayed. He knew He was going to be taken captive, and yet He prayed this prayer for all of us.

Listen/Download “O Righteous Father” at:

wesmichaelgorospe.com

Lyrics:

O Righteous Father, the world has not known You but I’ve known You, and these have known that You sent Me.

O righteous Father, I have declared to them Your name and will declare it, that Your love may be in them…Ooooooo

Father I desire that those You gave to Me will be with Me where I AM,

That they may see My glory, which You have given to Me, for You’ve loved Me from forever…

I in them, and You in Me, may they be made perfect in one that the world may know You’ve sent Me…

I have loved them as You have loved Me, as You’ve sent Me into this world, I AM sending them…Ooooooo

The glory that You gave Me, I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one…

I in them, and You in Me, may they be made perfect in one that the world may know You’ve sent Me…I have loved them as You have loved Me, as You’ve sent Me into this world, I Am sending them,

And I do love them, as You’ve loved Me, and I do love them as You have loved Me…Oooooooo

The tenderness of Jesus’ petition to Father God on our behalf, especially knowing that He was about to be betrayed, tortured, and hung on the cross, is mind boggling. He knew full well what was in store for Him…He knew the end from the beginning, and yet He chose to intercede for us who would believe. And He intercedes still as He sits at the right hand of The Father. This is true love, agape love, unconditional love. This is the same love that He calls us to display in our lives; to give away as He did to us. His New Commandment “that you love one another as I have loved you,” this is far and away beyond “love your neighbor as yourself.” Most of us cannot love our neighbor because we don’t even love ourselves, so Jesus’ command to love as He loved us means that we first must go to Him to receive His love. Only then can we turn around and give that love, His love, to someone else. He’s the beginning of love, and the vehicle by which love is given…only He could do such a thing, of course, He is God, He is love, and we are the better for it. Are you ready to receive His love, His glory, His oneness with Father and each other?

Be extremely blessed today,

Wes

Song #27 "Greater Is He" (1 John 4:4; Rev. 12:11)

Song #27: “Greater Is He” (1 John 4:4; Rev. 12:11)

This scripture has been one of the most useful tools to me and those I have ministered to over the years. To know that Jesus in me is greater than any outside opposition is not only a huge comfort, but it’s empowering.

The song is on “Life Changing Words”, my latest CD, which you can download at wesmichaelgorospe.com.

Lyrics:

Greater is He that is in me(you) than he that is in the world

We(you) are of God, little children, and we(you) have overcome.

By the blood of the Lamb, and the telling of our stories,

And we loved not our lives unto the death.

Through the cross, we have overcome…

By His blood, we have overcome…

Sometimes in life we find ourselves faced with challenges that seem too big an obstacle to get past. The trial, or test can seem so daunting that it’s almost like it is mocking you, laughing at you. It could be something physical, mental, emotional, financial…it could take many forms, or several forms at once.

Circumstances like these test your faith. It’s in these situations that songs of scripture promises will give you a tangible weapon to fight back against, or through the problem. Countless times, I have recited

“Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world” to myself, and counselled others to do the same. When you recite this over and over, Holy Spirit will attend the Word, and you will begin having confidence in Jesus, who is in you, and He will deliver you from your enemy’s torment. The enemy can only lie to you that you are defeated. The Word of God has real power to overcome, and the songs can help you remember the promises in the Word when you need them most.

Next time you’re facing a giant, speak the Word out loud; let the promises of God surround you, fill you, and pull you through.

It’s for this reason these songs of scripture exist; to help you overcome.

Be Blessed, Wes

Song #26: "Glory to Glory" (2 Corin. 3:17-18)

Song #26:  “Glory to Glory” (2 Corin. 3:17-18)

Lyrics:

Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is there is liberty.

Yes the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is there is liberty.

You and you and me with no veil upon our face

can look into a mirror, see the glory of His grace

we’re being changed everyday into His image

From glory to glory, from glory to glory, from glory to glory

by the Spirit of the Lord…

De la gloria, a la gloria, de la gloria, a la gloria

Por El espíritu del Señor

It had been a couple of days since the resurrection; Jesus probably had been seen several times by the disciples and others, but He had not yet ascended to heaven; I'm not sure if He had fully entered into His Glory yet, but I do know that sin, death and hell had been utterly defeated.

The believers were still living in fear, not knowing if they would be next to be punished.

Although Jesus had breathed on them to receive Holy Spirit, they had not yet been fully immersed in the power of the Spirit; to their amazement, that would come in another few weeks, at Pentecost.

Yes, on Pentecost, all heaven broke loose…the Spirit of the Lord came upon those in the upper room, and they entered into a glory realm never before experienced on earth.

Today, we who believe can still enter into that glory realm of the Spirit, and go even deeper into more glory…from glory to glory…

“The Spirit is willing…” are we??

Let’s do this…

“Glory to Glory” can be heard and purchased on my site:

Song #25 "New Creation" (2 Corinthians 5:17,21)

Song #25: “New Creation” (2 Corinthians 5:17,21)

The Easter season is more than the resurrection, although that’s huge; it’s also a time for redemption, renewal, rededication, and rejoicing.

“New Creation” celebrates much of this in a calm, thoughtful way.

Lyrics: I will worship You my God, I will worship You alone

I will lift up the name of Jesus.

It’s to You my praise I bring, Lord of glory

Mighty God, I worship You… Ooooooooo…

He made Him who knew no sin to become sin for us

That we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

So if anyone is in Christ, you are a new creation

the old things have passed away

and all things have become new.

He died for all, so we who live should not live for ourselves

But for Him, who died for us and conquered death.

It’s to You my praise I bring, Lord of glory

Mighty God, I worship You…

I wrote the introduction, “I will worship You…” many years ago, and this song was the perfect opportunity to use the lyrics. Worship is the perfect lead-in to understanding what Jesus really did for us on resurrection day. The fact that He died for us and rose from the dead is one enormous thing; but that He took all of our sin, past, present, and future, upon Himself is incredible…but God didn’t stop there, He cleaned up our junk first, then He declared that we are “the righteousness of God in Him.” Can He do that; take dirt and make diamonds? Of course He can, and He did…He’s Almighty God…!!!

The operative phrase is “in Him.” In Christ, we are a new creation; not refurbished, NEW.

He does have some expectations of us. With this new life, He would like us to “NOT live for ourselves, but for Him.” How could we not? But He doesn’t even force us to do that; He suggests that we make that choice…our free will to choose is a big deal to Him…hence the worship. His goodness and kindness is so overwhelming, worship is the natural response of an honest heart.

Happy resurrection season to all you redeemed, forgiven, newly created worshipers…let’s all rejoice, I mean really REJOICE…!!!
